The team

Dr Brandon Sorensen, MD

Dr. Sorensen was born and raised in Hanford, CA. Before medical school he was an undergraduate at Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. After four years of medical school he received his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. Dr. Sorensen then completed his internship at New York Medical College-SSMC. This was followed by a three year residency program in New York City at Columbia University Medical Center/Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital where he specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. After residency Dr. Sorensen completed an additional one year ACGME accredited Interventional Pain Management Fellowship through the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center. After nearly a decade of medical training on the East Coast, Dr. Sorensen is excited to finally be back home in California. He currently resides in Visalia with his wife Cali and their three daughters. In his spare time Dr. Sorensen enjoys spending time with his growing family. When not with his family he can be found swimming, biking, or running. He is an avid triathlete and has competed in numerous triathlons, including the Ironman. In addition, he has competed in many marathons. He also enjoys golf.

Meet our founders

Paul Ike Campos, FNP-c

Paul “Ike” Campos is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 22 years of clinical experience. A longtime Visalia resident, Paul started as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and the Medical/Surgical ICU units. After finishing his Master of Science in Nursing from Fresno State University in 2010, Paul continued working in the Emergency Department for many years and later transitioned to the Urgent Care Center where he works per diem. For the past 7 years he has worked in Pain Management, Primary Care and Family medicine. Paul has extensive knowledge in every field of medicine he has worked. He feels that being a diversified medical practitioner takes great skill, knowledge and continuing education. Paul seeks to educate and empower his patients to take a key role in their own care, and ensures his patients have all the resources they need to achieve a higher quality of life. Paul feels his relationship with his family and friends is the most cherished thing in his life. He is nearly fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, riding his Harley Motorcycle, getting tattoos, shooting his guns, camping, fishing, playing with his dog Felipe, working out and welding metals. Paul is very motivated and excited to bring Rapid Care Center of Visalia to the community, and can’t wait to help you.

Jen Nelsen, AGACNP-bc

Jennifer is a board-certified Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) with over 23 years of nursing experience working in Visalia, where she was born and raised. Most of her nursing experience includes critical care, where she worked as a lead nurse, as well as med-surg intensive care units (ICU), cardiothoracic ICU and the emergency department. She returned to school and graduated with her master’s degree as an AGACNP in 2016 and has since worked in urgent care and pain management. She is currently continuing her education in a post-master’s program for her Family Nurse Practitioner license. She takes pride in promoting health and wellness by empowering those she serves with the knowledge and support needed to reach their goals of achieving optimum health. She believes that individuals need to be educated, fully supported, involved in their care, and feel confident in their provider. Each patient is treated as if they were her own family, and she encourages patients to allow her to guide them in reaching their highest level of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Jennifer lives in Visalia with her husband Chad and has three children: Brendan, Alyssa, and Reagan. She enjoys trips to the beach, visiting wineries in Paso Robles, horseback riding, and watching soccer games at the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC). She looks forward to many years of caring for the community in which she serves.
